Mob torches 7 trucks after deadly accident in Karachi.
KARACHI: A road accident involving a dumper on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road near Lucky One Mall early Sunday claimed the lives of two siblings and injured their father. The incident sparked protests and mob violence that caused traffic jams on major city thoroughfares, according to officials.
Seven dumper trucks were set on fire by a mob in Karachi’s Federal B Area on August 10, 2025, after a truck killed two siblings, Ahmed Raza, 14, and Mahnoor, 22.
A motorcycle carrying the siblings and their father was involved in the late Saturday night collision on Rashid Minhas Road, which resulted in injuries for everyone involved. Sadly, the siblings later passed away from their injuries, which infuriated the locals.
SP Reporters were informed by Gulberg and Iqbal Shaikh that a family was hurt when a truck struck a motorcycle. Before the driver was taken into custody, he was attacked by locals, who also injured him. A mob retaliated by burning seven trucks. The burned cars are currently being removed from the area by authorities. Traffic cops have caused major disruptions by rerouting cars from Rashid Minhas Road via the Sohrab Goth flyover to Shahrah-e-Pakistan Water Pump.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori expressed deep sorrow and offered prayers for the father’s recovery, according to a statement from the Governor’s House. He urged residents to refrain from taking vigilante action and instructed the Sindh government to hold the responsible driver accountable while taking measures to combat the “dumper mafia.” Tessori emphasized, “The Sindh government must take action against the dumper mafia that jeopardizes people’s lives.”

In addition to directing the Sindh government to hold the negligent driver accountable and take action against the “dumper mafia,” he urged citizens to abstain from vigilante action. “The Sindh government needs to take action against the dumper mafia that puts people’s lives in danger,” Tessori emphasized.
The incident highlights safety concerns over heavy vehicles in Karachi and the public’s frustration with unchecked “dumper mafia” operations. The mob’s reaction underscores the need for stricter traffic regulations and enforcement to prevent such tragedies and maintain public order.
